After all the 12 months of pure love, vomit, clean up, giggles, dark eyes, shaking formula, pumping, and the like..congratulations, your baby is finally turning one! So what’s the big deal? You are now faced with the dilemma of whether or not to throw a party and waste money to impress and give thanks or save that money for a better experience with the fambam (like travel). Anyway, whichever you choose, you should make sure:

  1. you have a budget
  2. to choose the venue well
  3. to choose the right date when all your family and friends will be available
  4. to choose the right suppliers

Your checklist should include:

  1. Venue
  2. Party organizer/decorator
  3. Food Carts
  4. Catering
  5. Hair & Nail Salon/ Kiddie Games
  6. Host
  7. Singers/Dancers
  8. Cake
  9. Souvenirs
  10. Photo/Video

Sometimes, your party organizer can provide all the suppliers for you. You have the option to get another supplier of your choice.

If you decide to be frugal, a simple celebration is fine and you can prepare your well-loved home cooked meals like spaghetti, barbecue and chicken. If you decide to spend a little extra, we always love to see Jollibee and pals grind to “Versace on the Floor” but if you have that budget then go for that dream “princess” party or any theme your child may adorn.

For my son’s first birthday party, we booked Gloria Maris in Greenhills with a budget of P100,000 for 10 tables. I bought my balloons and souvenirs from SM. No host magician, no mascots, and no party organizer. We just had great food and good conversation with close friends. All we had were our phones for our photos.

For my daughter’s 5th birthday, we prepared something different. She wanted to celebrate her birthday with her classmates. Since, she requested to have a Trolls party, as a mom, I did my research. This time, the budget rose to P180,000. We booked Greenmeadows Clubhouse for 25,000.

Another P66,000 goes to the Party organizer (Pink n Peach) c/o Aileen Cruz. The package includes three food carts, The Jive singers, stool souvenirs, our Trolls headband and of course, the Trolls backdrop and balloons.

For our catering, we chose 8spoons. They even had a free food tasting of all the meals in your package. Our cost was  P57,000. The lechon was billed separately.

For our photo and video, we chose Skylite Advertising. They were 2 weeks late in delivering the CD but their package is still affordable at P8,000 including their transportation.

For our hair & nail salon and photobooth, we booked Sassy Kiddie Party. Our cost was P7,700 total for both services.

We choose Ronald JESTER for our host magician. His rate is P12.000.
